[MY TESTER VERSION] Finch Hobo Bag

HOBO BAG| HOBO STYLE | SLOUCHY BAG | HANDMADE | HANDMADE BAG | FINCH HOBO BAG

Yes, I really love the hobo style bag. Roomy and slouchy, so easy to carry and also I can dump everything I need inside!

This time Bagstock has a new pattern which is Finch Hobo Bag. This hobo has a curvy shape, but still beginner bagmaker friendly. Easy and fast, also fun sew. This bag has slip pockets inside and also there is an optional zipper pocket (tricky though because the shape is curvy, but yes sure it’s doable).

Its because I had a fun sew of this bag, I made my tester version with some decoration. I put an overlay on the bottom part and also some other decorations. I love how it looks at the end. I used fleece and woven interfacings for the exterior and woven for the lining. I added a sling strap too.

Her pattern has clear instructions, and well written as well. That’s why it’s easy to follow. This time she comes up with a backpack style, and it called THE MERAKI Backpack. The meaning of Meraki that I got from google was “The soul, creativity, or love put into something; The essence of yourself that is put into your work.”  Oh, that’s a beautiful name with gorgeous meaning, Love it!

The Meraki Backpack is a medium-sized backpack with a stylish look and practical storage.  It’s a perfect companion for outings as it is not too big, yet not too small. It also can be your everyday bag too.

The English PDF PATTERN is AVAILABLE FOR INSTANT DOWNLOAD, HERE !!!!

Backside Bag
Snap button on the side. But the pattern asks to use a magnetic snap. I used the snap button to get inspiration!
Exterior Hidden Pocket

As an amateur bag maker, the most time-consuming thing for me is choosing the right fabric in the right mood 😉 This time for Meraki, I chose Art Gallery Fabrics On-Lines for the main exterior, and also faux leather top grain dark brown for the flap and base. For the interior, I used linen fabric. The interfacings that I used were fusible woven and sew in foam to make it a sturdy look.
#The AGF fabric I bought here.

The Meraki going out with my daughter 😉
Base part

As you see on the base part, I did not use feet on it. But in the pattern you will see there is an instruction to put the feet.

Inside has enough roomy ,aim part, 1 zipper pocket and 2 slip pockets.
Front exterior hidden zipper pocket

This Meraki backpack is easy to make for sure, and it turns out beautiful and yet functional!

I love it and hope you all love it too!

NEW PATTERN RELEASE! – The Celosia Cross Body Bag by Blue Calla –

I am very honored to have my photo used for the pattern cover. Thank you so much Celine from Blue Calla!

BlueCalla Pattern just released a NEW gorgeous pattern, The Celosia Cross Body Bag. The Celosia is a medium-sized crossbody bag with a rectangular boxy shape and a gusset. It has one front unique shape exterior zippered pocket with a curved opening. The front exterior pocket is perfect for showing off a small panel that catching the eyes. I don’t have any special panel that fits on the exterior pocket, so for my Celosia, I made colorful stripes patchwork.

The Celosia in the park with my daughter 🙂

The main closure is zippered as well and can be done with a single pull or a double-pull zipper. On the inside of the bag, there is one zippered pocket and 2 slip pockets. This bag does not have a drop-in lining or a binding finish. It is turned through the zipper pocket.

I used double-pull zipper
That double-pull zipper perfectly matches with the bag.
One zippered pocket and 2 slip pockets
Back part of my Celosia, I quilted as I go
I do love that piping
