This time I would like to share my tester version of the newest pattern by Sammy Valencia, Shamballa Designs.

This bag called Paulette.
I love these designs, hobo style. I love how slouchy this bag, roomy, and the size is just perfect. It allows lots of room to carry such necessities as cell phones, cosmetics, as well as wallets, and other personal items. And for the most valuable things can be put in the zipper pocket inside. Other than the zippered pocket inside also have open pockets too.

This bag has a finished size of around 9- 1/2” High x 14” Wide x 4” Deep (24 cm H x 35 cm W x 10 cm D).
And just nice for intermediate level.

MATERIALS that need:

Exterior Fabric: 50 cm (1/2 yard) Approx.
Lining Fabric: 50 cm (1/2 yard) Approx.
Contrast Fabric: 50 cm (1/2 yard) Approx.
Fusible Interfacing (Middleweight): 50 cm (1/2 yard) Approx.
Foam Interfacing or Fleece (Middleweight) 50 cm (1/2 yard) Approx.
Coordinating Thread
Double-Sided Tape
Rivets
Glue for faux leather or fabric (Depending on the material you will use for the contrast)
1 Zipper: 20 cm (8”)
1 Zipper: 45 cm (17”)
2 Metal Rings(Gate rings): (3,5 cm —– 1-3/8” inner diameter)
13 Grommets: (1cm —— 3/8”) (Optional)
Piping Cord (5/32 — 0,3mm diameter): 172 cm (67”) (Optional)
1 Zipper end

For my Paulette done in cotton for the exterior both sides and also for the interior. For the exterior gusset, I used faux leather.

BUCKET BAG | SHOULDER BAG | SLOUCHY BAG

There are many types of bags. The bucket bag is one of my favorite types. The bucket bag trend is always alive and thriving. Bucket bags will carry all the essentials with the toss-it-in ease of a tote but in a more tidy, chic package. That’s why I love this kind of bag. But the bucket bag doesn’t necessarily look like buckets. The flat bottom can be round/oval or square. Typically have a top drawstring closure, but the most important is how easy and secure when you access your bag’s contents.

If you would like to make this kind of bag, you can search for the pattern and start to make it. This time I would like to share there is a bucket bag pattern from Country Cow Designs, that called “Deyjon” Bucket Bag.

The “Deyjon” is a great sized bucket bag. It holds loads of stuff inside but it doesn’t feel like you’re carrying the world with you. It features two exterior zip pockets which are ideal for holding your keys, phone, or sunglasses. The interior has a zipper pocket and slips pocket.

The pattern provides two options for the top closure. You can choose between a draw-string and a recessed zipper panel. They look so different that it’s almost like getting two patterns in one! The pattern is ideal for canvas, cork, vinyl, or leather. You can even make it using cotton but I’d recommend adding some fleece for stability.

Finished size: 12 1/2″ tall x 10″ wide x 5 1/2″ deep.

The pattern is suitable for ambitious beginners. It includes a full video tutorial as well as a 20-page step by step photo guide and a printable pattern for all pattern pieces in both A4 and “letter” paper sizes.
